Jan 12,  · THE GREAT FLOOD, a combination of archival footage found and arranged by Bill Morrison with music by Bill Frisell, takes us back to spring, , when the Mississippi River rose over its banks in places -- inundating 27, square miles (to a depth of up to 30 feet!). The flooding caused a mass exodus of displaced sharecroppers, thus adding to the migration of southern blacks .
  2. The Great Flood is a collaboration between filmmaker and multimedia artist Bill Morrison and guitarist and composer Bill Frisell inspired by the catastrophe. In the spring of , as the Mississippi River was again flooding to levels not seen since , Frisell, Morrison, and the band traveled together from New Orleans, through Vicksburg.
